Mid Atlantic Regional Circuit

 

Purpose:  To strengthen our Mid-Atlantic regional presence at sectional, regional, national, and international events by offering travel reimbursements to top placing circuit fencers.

 

Rules:   

1)      The Mid-Atlantic Regional Circuit (MARC) will consist of six tournaments held throughout the Mid-Atlantic region (Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia).

2)      All events will be governed by current USFA rules and regulations.

3)      Mixed Open Events in Foil, Epee, and Sabre will be held. Additional events may be held in conjunction to promote support (e.g. E & Under Events, Junior Events, etc.)

4)      Top four of six events will count toward circuit final results.

5)      Points will be awarded to each fencer based on table established by MARC Executive Council each year.

6)      Fencers finishing tied for 3rd will both received 3rd place points.

7)      Men and Women will be separated on point listings.

8)      Format of Tournaments will be established by MARC Executive Council each year.

a)      Current Format is 100% promotion from pool round (pools of 6/7 max) to Direct Elimination without repecharge.

Awards:

 

1)      A common registration fee, weapon fee, and late fee structure will be established by the MARC Executive Committee for all events each year.

Current fee structure

Pre-registration                     $20          Up until 2 weeks prior to tournament

Registration                           $25

Each additional weapon        $10

 

2)      Monies for travel reimbursement will be raised from each of the circuit tournaments.

3)      Tournament organizers will contribute MARC fencer fee for each fencer competing in the tournament, regardless of the number of events fenced.

a)      Tournament Fee per fencer will be established each year by MARC Executive Council.

b)      Current fee is $ 4/per fencer

4)      Any overall circuit awards must be distributed equally across the six weapons, without any bias.

 

 

Organization:     

 

1.      The governing body of the MARC will be the executive council (EC).

a)      The EC will consist of one member from each LOC appointed by the local organizer.

b)      The responsibilities of the EC will be tallying the points, collecting funds for the overall circuit awards, distributing the overall circuit awards, and promoting the MARC.

2)      The EC must be formed at the latest at the first tournament of the circuit, at which point they will establish an account in the name of the circuit which will hold all funds relating to awards, as well as determining procedures for collection and distribution of awards.
